Here’s a curriculum list that strings various free computing courses into the go here now equivalent of a college bachelor’s degree. aGupieWare, an independent app developer, surveyed the curricular requirements for computer science programs at several of the US’s top universities. It then developed a similar program using 15 free online courses from MIT, Berkeley, Stanford, and other sources. Like formal college programs, the courses are broken into introductory classes, core classes, and electives.

The dot.com crash in 2001 turned people away from computer science, and sent enrollments falling until they bottomed out in 2007. Bachelor degree production in computer science last year increased 3.7% overall to 12,503, but 9.4% among those schools that reported in both years. The number of computer science graduates will continue to increase.
